Licensed & Board Certified LMT/NCTMB, Nancy Keeney Smith is the
owner of N'Touch Therapy located in Gainesville, Florida.
Whether you have a need for therapeutic massage for traumatic
scar tissue, Lymph Drainage Therapy, or want to relax, N'Touch
Therapy can help. Nancy has developed
specific protocols & workshops from her experience with burn
survivors, post mastectomy clients and research conducted with a
team of therapists at pediatric burn camps in Florida and
Central Virginia.

Paving the road with hands-on
research,Nancy an d a team of volunteer LMT's continue to work with
pediatric and adult burn survivors. The work at Camp Amigo in
Florida in July 2006 resulted in a published research paper on
therapeutic massage and its effect on burn survivors’ scar tissue.
The research concluded that therapeutic
massage did have an effect on scar tissue and range of motion and
concluded that more study was neede d. In 2009 another
grant proposal was funded for the 2010 calendar year to expand this
evidence based research program.
Nancy's ground breaking research has translated into scar management
protocol for other clients with scars from mastectomy surgery,
scars from auto accidents, c-sections, and a variety of other issues
that have caused trauma to the tissu e. Nancy's training in Manual
Lymph Drainage compliments the recovery time of surgical scars, too.
N'Touch has many workshops which embrace
humor, wealth of usable information and abiding reverence for
research and intuitive body work. N'Touch Therapy's unique work has
developed innovative workshops for massage students as well as
continuing education courses for licensed massage therapists. Nancy
is helping pioneer a =0 Anew category for specialization or the
treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scarring. |
